Additive Manufacturing Engineering - Coimbatore

Engineering the part before printing the part.

AXXENTA helps manufacturers decide whether a component should be printed, machined, moulded or redesigned. Our additive-manufacturing workflow combines evidence review, CAD and DfAM, material guidance, process planning and operator confirmation before production.

Engineering scope

A controlled route from need to manufacturable geometry.

Additive manufacturing is not only a printer operation. Successful industrial parts require clear requirements, appropriate geometry, material/process compatibility and a defined inspection plan.

Feasibility review

Evaluate quantity, envelope, wall thickness, overhangs, interfaces, tolerances and whether additive manufacturing is appropriate.

CAD and reconstruction

Create or revise parametric geometry from supplied drawings, measurements, source CAD and verified customer evidence.

DfAM optimisation

Adjust geometry for print orientation, strength direction, support access, assembly, fastening and post-processing.

Material selection

Compare temperature, load, chemical exposure, wear, flexibility, dimensional stability, flame or other application needs.

Print planning

Define provisional layer height, walls, infill, supports and orientation, then confirm in the selected slicer and printer workflow.

Inspection planning

Identify critical dimensions, datums, fit checks, visual acceptance and records required for the intended use.

Why companies use AM

Faster learning and practical low-volume production.

Reduce tooling commitment

Prototype or produce limited quantities before committing to moulds, patterns or dedicated tooling.

Consolidate assemblies

Where engineering permits, combine multiple pieces into simpler printed geometries with fewer joining operations.

Respond to obsolete parts

Reconstruct confirmed polymer components when original supply is difficult, while documenting assumptions and interfaces.

Frequently asked questions

Additive manufacturing decisions

Is every component suitable for 3D printing?

No. Geometry, quantity, tolerance, surface, material, load and regulatory requirements must be reviewed. AXXENTA may recommend machining, moulding or a hybrid route when more appropriate.

Can hidden geometry be generated from one photograph?

It can only be proposed as a hypothesis. Hidden passages, threads, rear features and critical interfaces require direct evidence such as additional views, sections, measurements, scan data or source CAD.

What should we include in an enquiry?

Send the part function, drawing or CAD, photos, quantity, dimensions, load, temperature, pressure or fluid exposure, accuracy, surface and delivery requirement.
